Spacious Rear Seats

The rear seats provide best-in-class knee and head clearance, providing a spacious and relaxing environment for passengers. Even when a larger person*1 is using the front seat, you can easily install a child seat or hand luggage.

Boot Space

The boot opening is low and wide, making it easy to load and unload large luggage. This boot space is highly convenient in situations where drivers need to load a lot of luggage, whether it be from shopping or travel. By folding down the rear seats, you can create a fully flat floor and secure a class-leading boot space height. This lets you easily load tall, heavy cargo without any interference with the ceiling. Also, the 40:20:40 split adjustable rear seats allow for easy storage of long cargo.

Panoramic sunroof with electric sunshade

The large opening provides an open field of view and brightness that create a bright cabin environment where the driver and all the occupants can relax. Taking safety into account, we also used roof reinforcement between the B-pillars. The motorized slide and tilting mechanism operate in front of the roof reinforcement.

Interior ambient lighting

The front door trim features an ambient light with a total of seven colours. You can select a colour that matches the situation to create an impressive atmosphere for passengers. The soft, indirect lighting also helps make driving at night safer.

Intuitive, immersive, flexible

Stay connected and focused with an available 15.6-inch* centre touchscreen display, the largest ever offered on a Mazda vehicle. You can perform various operations with your fingertips, like a smartphone. The highly convenient design allows you to freely display multiple widgets from the five available widget functions.** Our HMI philosophy delivers multiple easy-to-use options for interacting with the vehicle, including the touchscreen and tactile steering wheel controls.

*15.6-inch available on the High Plus only, the High version will have the 12.9-inch.

Qi Wireless Charger

We chose a more spacious Qi charging tray that can accommodate even large smartphones. You can ensure the smartphone remains stable even while driving, enabling more reliable charging.

BOSE Premium Sound System

The Bose® sound system, equipped with the Bose original, cutting-edge PSR (Perceptual Sound Rendering) software, comprehensively controls and optimises the 12 high-performance speakers for more accurate and more immersive high sound quality.

Electric Parking Brake (EPB) & Autohold

The EPB switch can be pulled up to firmly engage the parking brake, and pushing down the switch or stepping on the accelerator pedal to drive forward disengages the brake. The Autohold function keeps the vehicle stopped even if you take your foot off the brake pedal while the vehicle is stopped.

Hands-Free Liftgate

With the advanced key in your pocket or bag, a quick kick beneath the sensor located under the rear bumper lets you open and close the power liftgate, a convenient feature when your hands are full or when you don’t want to touch the car because it is wet or muddy.

2.5L e-Skyactiv G

Skyactiv-G achieves high energy created by compressing the air-fuel mixture to a high compression rate unparalleled by conventional engines, as well as outstanding fuel economy. 24V Mild Hybrid (MHEV) Technology, designed to enhance both efficiency and driving dynamics without requiring you to plug the vehicle in. At the heart of the system is an advanced integrated Starter/Generator (USG). Every time you decelerate, the USG acts as a generator, capturing kinetic energy in a 24-volt battery to power the vehicle’s electrical systems.

Transmissions

Mazda’s advanced 6-speed Skyactiv-Drive automatic transmission combines the best qualities of CVT, dual-clutch and conventional automatic systems to deliver a truly refined driving experience.

360 View monitor with see-through view

This system uses four cameras to assist the driver in checking the vehicle surroundings when driving at low speeds or when parking by displaying information on the centre display and using warning sounds.

Adaptive LED Headlights

The vehicle determines the status of oncoming vehicles and vehicles ahead when driving at night. This system then automatically changes the illumination range and brightness of the headlights.

Cruising & Traffic Support

Traffic Jam Assist transforms exhausting stop-and-go commutes into a relaxing experience. By utilizing advanced radar and camera systems, the CX-5 can automatically manage the accelerator and brake pedals to maintain a safe distance from the car ahead, even bringing the vehicle to a complete stop if necessary. Simultaneously, the system provides active steering assistance gently guiding the steering wheel to keep the vehicle perfectly centered in its lane. It is the ultimate co-pilot for heavy Mauritian traffic.

Driver Monitoring

Detects sleepiness or inattention via line of sight. Camera and infrared LED monitor driver condition day & night. Audible alert if inattention is detected. Prepares automatic braking for potential incident.

Blind Spot Monitoring (BSM) with Rear Cross Traffic Alert (RCTA)

BSM: Rear radars detect vehicles approaching from behind and adjacent lanes. Alerts via icon door mirror. Flashing icon and warning beep if indicator is used with vehicle in blind spot. RCTA: Helps ensure safe backing up. Uses BSM radars to detect approaching vehicles from both sides.

Smart Brake Support

When the radar sensor and camera determine there is a possibility of a collision with an object in front (vehicle ahead, pedestrian, or bicycle), a message on the display and warning sound alert the driver to the risk of collision. If the system determines that a collision cannot be avoided, it operates the brakes in an attempt to reduce the damage from the collision. If the driver steps on the brake pedal, the system offers support for swift and sure braking.

Front Cross Traffic Alert

Adds confidence at junctions with restricted views. Radar sensors monitor front left/right blind spots. Detects approaching vehicles. Clear visual and audible alerts warn in time to react.
