JOB OBJECTIVE
The Cashier will be responsible for processing and receiving payments (cash, cheques, bank transfers, cards, e-payments and other means of payment). He/She will also be responsible of issuing receipts on system accurately while maintaining cash register including prompt banking of all payments received.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
- Ensure cheques remitted are properly filled. (date, amount in words & figures, beneficiary’s name is correct etc).
- Process card payments via machines/electronic devices available. Ensure correct amount is inserted for payment.
- Handover payments slip to client and retain merchant copy.
- Process receipt of all payment received including bank transfers from clients. Due care is taken while processing the receipts to ascertain correct client code, name, reference of invoice/service order and amount are inserted.
- Remit/send receipt to client and internal dept as required (Sales representatives/Service advisors).
- At end of each day, reconcile the cash register with the receipts issued (Cash/cheques/ card payments/bank transfers) and ensure the takings are kept securely as per procedures.
- Ascertain all cash takings are verified in the presence of the clients. Any counterfeit notes and coins should be reported to superior promptly.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

- Ability to work odd hours for the end-of month reporting and promotional events.
- Ability to issue receipt accurately and timely.

- Pay attention to details.
- Good communication skills.
- School Certificate/ Higher School Certificate or alternately acceptable.
- 2-3 years of relevant work experience.
- Thorough knowledge of cash takings/handlings and counting.
- Sound understanding of legal framework in respect to cash deposits.
