James Bond is arguably the most famous film spy in the history of cinema. This Ian Flemming inspired film series has kept more than one on their toes and so did the actors playing James Bond like Sean Connery, Roger Moore, Pierce Brosnan and the most famous Daniel Craig. If you had a glance at the red carpet premiere in London we are sure you were dazzled by the glitz and glamour. With the release postponed due to Covid-19, we couldn’t miss the opportunity to spark up our collaboration with the British High Commission.
An extended partnership with the British High Commission of Mauritius in collaboration with Land Rover Mauritius for a private screening on the new 007 movie at Star Cinema. A mission we chose to accept.
Opening on the 21st evening at Star Bagatelle around cocktails, shaken not stirred gathered ours and the British High Commissioner’s guests. We didn’t have 007 in person, but rest assured the event was as glamourous as the London premiere. We had a special guest. The Land Rover Defender, all decked up and present at Star Cinema for the curious eyes of our guests.

After months of being confined, slowly Mauritius is unwrapping and venturing outside again. What is ‘normal’ is questioned and redefined thoroughly. During this period came the idea of #microadventures, the idea of exploring the surroundings of Mauritius. Whispers were that a documentary photographer was already up for the adventure.
The concept of #microadventures is to get you on the move and give out location pins around Mauritius to discover like discovering the Chinese culture of China Town through the perspective of the its residents, its stories, food, wall graffiti and the story around every turn and corner.
#WalkMauritius by renowned International documentary photographer, Paul Choy was the right excuse to plug the #microadventures project. They say pictures speak a thousand word and Paul narrates euphoric story-telling through his travel stories. “Walk Mauritius is about reconnecting with the journey. With this walk, I want to explore Mauritius – taking the time to appreciate the things that other people miss as they drive by – sharing the stories of the island's ocean, land, mountains and people” says Paul.
Jaguar Land Rover sub-Sahara Africa honoured its top performing importers at the annual Importer of the Year event, which was streamed online for the first time in its history. Among the 14 recipients of awards across six categories was Axess Mauritius, which received top honour as 2019 Importer of the Year.
Because large gatherings are not permitted under enforced lockdown rules in South Africa where the ceremony is normally held, the annual awards were held via an online streaming platform so that importers could attend remotely and safely.
The awards, which highlight the efforts of Jaguar Land Rover’s retail network across the continent are given to importers that rank highest in a number of scoring categories for business performance, including vehicle sales volumes, sales of parts and accessories and maintaining Jaguar Land Rover’s required customer service standards.
