Ford Mauritius welcomes a new Brand Manager

Ford Mauritius sees a new dawn with its newly appointed Brand Manager, Daryl Dabeesing.
As much as we are excited to have Daryl onboard, we are sure that he is as motivated & thrilled to oversee one of the top pickup brands on our island.

Who is Daryl, you ask?

Well for one, he is a car enthusiast who discovered his passion for cars through Gran Turismo.
And since then, he’s always been curious and attracted towards the automobile industry which made his application for the post of Ford Brand Manager the next best move for his career.

How did you go from designing to brand management?

Daryl started his early years in the graphic designing where he worked as an Art Director. He later decided to explore the marketing world where he worked as a trainee to a manufacturing & distribution company.
Over the years, he got appointed as Assistant Marketing Manager and finally got promoted as a Brand Manager for different international agencies like Colgate-Palmolive, Johnson & Johnson’s, Bic, and other local brands.
As Ford’s new Brand Manager, Daryl’s main duties will be to achieve the brand’s true potential by designing and implementing strategies that expands its customer base and ensure its strong presence on the market.

“After 8 fruitful years of experience in Brand Management, I have now the privilege to lead the Ford Brand for Axess.”

What are your views on the Drive 4 UR Community project?

Daryl is starting his journey with Ford right in the middle of a very exciting and meaningful project to the brand – the Drive 4 UR Community.

“I feel very proud of the brand already for having such meaningful initiatives and contributing to the community. I’m excited and looking forward to the driving experience with our customers which will be happening very soon.”

Let’s break the ice!

If you could snap your fingers and become an expert in something, what would it be?

It’s a difficult one as I like to learn various and unrelated subjects!

What’s the best advice you were ever given? Who was it from?

Be positive! Many find the problems; few find solutions. I can’t remember where I have read or heard it. I think I have taken bits and pieces from experience and people I have met in my life.

When you were a kid, what did you want to be when you grew up?

Oh, many things! Astronaut, pilot, archeologist and so on! But I was sure of one thing, it’s that I wanted to like what I do for a living! Which I do!

What’s your go-to productivity trick?

Self-messaging my reminder and filling up my calendar app.

What’s one thing you’re currently trying to make a habit?

Going mountain biking every weekend!

If you could meet one person, living or dead, real, or fictional, and have a conversation with them, who would you meet and what would you talk about?

My late grandmother, to ask her awesome ‘Roti laviann’ recipe. I love cooking! But also, to tell her we are doing fine!

If you could trade places with anyone for a day, who would you choose?

Any great company leader, to understand the pressure and the challenges they live.

In a fictional world where anything and everything is possible, how would you build your idea of a perfect pickup?

We are at the dawn of the EV, and Ford have launched a full EV pickup which is loaded with unbelievable features. It’s hard to imagine anything crazier than this while keeping all the fun of the off-road. Maybe a puncture proof tyre? Then again, Michelin is already working on a prototype for this! We truly live in a time where everything is possible!

As someone who strives to put people first and promote a culture of positivity, we’re sure that Daryl will strive, as the Ford Brand Manager, as a team player and as a fresh member of the Axess Family. He is now well settled, spreading his wings and ready to Go Further!
